But BlogHers tolerated me during this weekend. As is evidenced by much licking going on. I am going to stay away from the flickr site with all the updates until I have recovered a bit, but I’ve been told there are lots of great pictures there.
Trying to update has been awful since Jayne is crapping out again. She got a new hard drive before I left so she should be fine, but I also got more memory and I think perhaps the chip is bad. There are no shortages of computers here, but everyone is USING THEM so I don’t want to ask. Sarah, however, was kind enough to let me post a few of my pictures, but there are at least 300 more that I have to upload.
Soon. When Jayne gets back into the shop.
There is really no way to sum up anything here so I won’t try to do so as my brain is still being wrapped around all the things we’ve discussed and the people I’ve met and the mountainous heap of blogging cards people handed me. Perhaps the most interesting session I attended was on Blogging Brown which led to a fantastic conversation between me, Fizzle, and a journalist named Annette. In fact, while Annete and I were discussing the politics of Black hair there was a podcaster who walked by and asked if she could tape us.
So, somewhere out there in the cosmic universe there is a podcast of me spouting off about a bunch of stuff and I fear that now if I were to listen to it that I would sound like a total ass. So, I won’t even link it here just yet.
That’s not entirely accurate. I just can’t find where the address is and with all the trouble this laptop has given me, I’m typing fast, pushing “Publish”, and calling it a day.
I can say one more thing about a BlogHer rumor I heard and that is that it is being held in Chicago next year. That would be absolutely wonderful and I’m so selfish and lazy that I really want it to come to me. That means that I have a whole year to get through all the sites of new bloggers I’ve met before I double the amount of licking that will be done.
My tongue is tired.

Kelly. Great to hear you are so tired and having such a blast. Will you be able to cope with coming home to such mundane life again? Like you have ever had a mundane life LOL. Can’t wait to see the pics. And when you get a chance… go visit Jess. She made a total arse of herself on the weekend
Luckily it was with Justin, so she is safe…. sort of
Mwah to you and to poor Jayne

oooohhhh! Chicago! That is a very feasible possiblity. I just could possibly muster up the courage to go without having to worry about trying to get on a plane. Now I believe I have a goal to somehow save up money for expenses and save some vacation time for next year.

you sound joyfully tired, but not really completely in tune with the tired part yet.
it will be interesting to hear more about blogher.
do you think boring people without lap tops would fit in too? Ü
i recently read a tip from a woman that is a professional photographer…she said she takes the neck strap of her camera and wraps it 2 or 3 times around her arm (she doesn’t wear around her neck)everytime she picks up her camera. this is to prevent dropping her camera. the photo of all of you ladies with the same camera reminded me of this.

Poor Jayne. It was too much input for her. ;^) I adore Chicago. It has always been my favorite city. So much more wonderful than San WHAT?
Can’t wait to see the pics.

Mhh, Chicago, eh? A place to show off a new Ethiopian baby who doesn’t breastfeed and thus will be under the guidance of one inebriated mamita? (gosh, social worker, I’m just fucking kidding over here at mocha’s site)…
Excellent lunchtime conversation. Wish I’d been to Blogging Brown, but am happy to know you’re going to continue in perusing some important topics. Keep me in the loop with their/your plans.

Yeah, girl, that conversation we had about hair was empowering. As India Arie says, “We are not our hair, we’re not our skin, we are not your expectations, no!” LOL.
Much love to you. Check me out at http://www.philly.com
Peace

I nearly leapt from my chair when I read about BlogHer being held in Chicago. When I read that, our house was filled with peeps who don’t know about my blog, so I had to celebrate very quietly.
Chicago is *SO* very doable. YaY!
I can’t wait to hear about it all and see all the pictures.

Hi!
I had such a good time with you this weekend! I will now think of you whenever I check into a hotel room and perform the ass juice elimination ritual.
(have you blogged about that, BTW? that is some funny shit)
(OH I crack myself up!)

Mocha Momma - It was nice to meet you in person (Saturday morning at the opening session)! The BlogMe interview idea was great - I really enjoyed reading everyone’s posts. Have a good week.

Since I can’t find email for you anywhere - I have to say you’re one person I really regret not having spent more time with. You just radiate beautiful energy and for whatever reason our paths didn’t cross nearly enough. I spent half the cocktail party Saturday night asking everyone where you were and never quite found you. Now I hear you were doing sneaky fun things without me. But then, so was everyone pretty much.
Next year in Chicago?

Welcome back!
The Blogsphere (or at least the parts I traipse through daily) was eerily quiet during Blogher. I was getting lonely!
Since I live in California, I’m intrigued to hear that Blogher might be in Chicago next year. Deep dish pesto pizza just a restaurant away AND rooms full of Bloggers, and licking? What enticements are next, free shoes?

I think i’m about done with the instant messaging blogher wrap, but i’m not done with my endless ruminations because that is what i do. Think and think till it kills me. I’m still trying to decompress and deal with…

I heard that BlogHer will be in Chicago next year too! I read on Christina’s site. And if that’s true, I will be dancing with anticipation for an entire year. I’m so there! I’m sorry Jayne has PMS, but I’m glad you had a great time at BlogHer! =)

Loved meeting you.

I have a photo of you licking the Red Stapler over on flickr - my account is under suebobdavis and it is in the BlogHer 06 Red Stapler set.
