To do my part, I've been offering breast examinations to as many women as possible. My slap to grope ratio is probably about 400:1. Unfortunately the sample size is around 250. But I live in hope.

There is so much I want to say about this topic, but I know it is a serious subject for too many people, so I won't make my usual sacastic remark.... but I do propose next month to be testicular cancer month, and I am going to show my support by wearing a jock strap on the outside of my pants to show my support.

Kelly, when you began by mentioning the reason to wear pink, it reminded me of something from school days. The Gay and Lesbian Alliance was promoting their own sort of awareness day and had posted signs saying something like, "Show support for our cause Friday, Oct. 27, by wearing blue jeans." If I recall, there were quite a few jean-clad folks on campus on the appointed day. A triumph for advocacy? Likely not. When would students ever not wear jeans? It was a clever ploy, though, nonetheless.

Of course, you said that your support has nothing to do with being "pretty in pink".

And for the record, I believe that supporting breasts is a good thing.

I agree with S. Any awareness is great. At my last breast cancer walk I noticed a lot of male survivors, more than I expected.

It's amazing how many people don't understand that this is a cancer that can affect everyone, no matter the gender. It's also a cancer that is no longer a death sentence, thanks to all those who have supported the cause.

Ok, I'm all teary and need to go hug my mom.
