Please Say It’s Not Just Me

When you get to a certain age you pretty much take what you can get.

So, is it just me, or do other people play the Weather Station channel on tv in their bedrooms for some sexy jazzy music because they’re too lazy to look for the Luther Vandross cd when they’re feeling frisky?

    *Laugh!*

Ummmm…no. I can’t say that it’s ever occurred to me to use the Weather Channel as mood music. Next you’re going to tell me you’re using a Light Bright for mood lighting.

Hey Girl, you go! Whatever works for ya. (And I’ll have to file away the idea myself; never know when it might come in handy.)

Oh yeah, Weather Channel rules. I knew you were that kind of girl Kelly. If you want to really want to spice things up, go for the Animal Planet or Discovery Channel action.

    You are such a freak!

I was going to make fun of you here, but then I remembered my Ford Taurus/Phil Collins incident. So I’ll just shut the hell up.

WHAT? You have time to play music and get frisky? WOW! This must be one of the many benefits I have to look forward to when my kids are older. Right now it’s push something heavy against the door and set a stop watch for under 5 minutes. Or wait til some ungodly hour of the morning and sneak outside. Either way the kids or “stiffie alarms” as Justin so lovingly calls them… always come looking for us right when it’s getting interesting :) How do you get rid of the kids?

PMSL…. frisky is good. Frisky means you are feeling a bit better :)

    Love Yvonne

Okay, I admit it. I love the music on Weather Channel. But I’ve never used it for mood music. More like cleaning the house music on a rainy day.

That Jim Cantore does it for me. Oh, how I’d like to be in the eye of the storm with him!

No music in my bedroom ever. Not much else either, alas. I have virtually never watched the Weather Channel - it is news to me that they have any music at all. So it may not be just you, but it sure as hell is not me.

    That is too funny.

We play the weather channel when there’s nothing on the music stations on cable. I thought we were the only ones who did that.

Can’t say I have ever done that. I don’t stop by the Weather Channel enough to know they have good music. LOL.

We don’t get the weather station in the Netherlands, just bad weather. Is that why I don’t feel frisky? ;-)

Libby - Oooohhh! Light Bright! Great idea.

Tom - Oooohhh! Animal Planet! Great idea.

Chase - That’s ok, honey. I was making fun of myself and putting the entire thing on the internet, so go ahead.

Yvonne - Hello, my favorite Dragon. Just so you know, here in the states “frisky” just means “frisky”. Didn’t want anything lost in translation. ;-)

Tanilan - Might I suggest you use the Weather Channel for other purposes? Get back to me on how that works.

Mommela - You mean there’s EYE CANDY on the Weather Channel? I’ll have to actually watch it next time.

DavidShag - Don’t be mistaken. We didn’t actually look at the t.v. That was not a prerequisite.

Janet - Yay! I’m not the only one! I’m not the only one!

Nora - Why don’t you try it, too. Seriously, people. The music selections are magnificent. Good stuff.

Joe - Yep. That’s why. You need to move to someplace that has that channel or else try Discovery or Animal Planet like Tom mentioned earlier. I’m a little afraid of what you’ll report on after you watch Animal Planet, though. Might not be safe for these open comments, ya know?

Uh, no. I’ve noticed that a lot of the Weather Channel music is really annoying and not good jazz. I remember going two weeks without watching the Weather Channel with the sound on because the music made my skin crawl (high pitched tink-tink-tink).

Never used the weather channel, but I have used the public announcement station. The one we have has graphics of all the local happenings with soft or country music in the background.

We have digital cable. So, we get digital radio via the tv. In stereo. The hard thing is to remember which station has good contemporary jazz or the blues, without picked the classics from way back when. For example, in our haste, In Gada Da Vida (the LONG version) came on … very intense when making love, for sure.

humm…that is an idea. Usually we just leave the sports on. There is nothing like a sports announcer to put you in the mood “It’s going all the way!” :)

    -laughing hysterically-

WE don’t even get the weather channel….but we used to have digital cable and we’d play one of those music channels.

OMG, I can’t believe I just admitted THAT.

Mommela and Mocha - I like “Grover” too (although not quite the same way Mommela apparently does).

Grover is my name for Jim “Eye of the Hurricane; If I’m coming to your town, you better be leaving” Cantore. Take a close look at him next time he’s on TV and tell me he doesn’t look like Grover from Sesame Street.

“I am near……*running*…and now I am VERY far.”

Re. the Light Bright - honey, you know I love ya. But you’re just not right in the noggin.

  19. Mocha Said,

Have just Googled and Wikipediaed Mr. Cantore.

If he comes to my town, I’m stayin’.

“It’s going all the way!”??? OMG. Can’t. Stop. Laughing.

Love you, too, Libby. You ain’t tellin’ me nothin’ I don’t already know. ;-)

Hilarious because yes I would turn on the weather channel if we didn’t already have our mandatory ipod sexy jazz playlist ready at the push of a button. The comments have me rolling today- animal planet action LOL :)

Feeling frisky? Me? You have GOT to be kidding, right? These days, my idea of “frisky” is the way I feel after taking a really good dump. (I know - “Ewww” right?)

The last time I felt “frisky”, Ronald Reagan was in office. Or was it Tricky Dicky who was the Prez then? I forget (memory issues here).

Of the memories I DO have regarding “friskiness”, dim though they may be, seems to me that I seldom bothered with getting up to get ANYTHING, except perhaps the KY.

    (was that TMI?)

Oh Caffeinated Librarian, I will not let you sully my foul weather fantasies with visions of a blue Muppet! No, no, no! I’ve got my fingers in my ears and my eyes squinched shut.

I’ll also take a little, um, weather advice from Paul Goodloe if My Meteorologist is off on yet another dangerous assignment. Who knew physics classes had the likes of these guys. I might have studied science more.
