I love you. I love every single Cardinal. I love them all. I did not need to be shown sad Tigers on T.V., though (I really hate that part of team sports, the losing part, no matter who’s doing it), so I was glad they didn’t do that typical thing of dwelling on the sad faces of small children…faces painted with Tiger stripes. I can’t stand it.

So while I don’t glory in defeating the other team, I do rejoice, and think fondly of my Dad, over the St. Louis victory.

And this, too, might show up as a short post over at my place. Don’t be surprised.

I head to the game this afternoon with the entire family in tow. I shall do nothing but think of you the entire trip there and for a few moments of digesting my hot dog. But when Pujols steps up to the plate and makes that face of his? Well, honey… I ain’t thinking of you at all.

But then? When I have a beer? I’ll think of you again.

The heart strings. Who knew you were capable? With all your brass and confidence. Geez…. I’m missing my own late grandfather NOW and we never even WENT to a baseball game together! How did you do that to me? You must know I’m awfully sentimental at this time.

Ok. I’ll think of you the entire time.

Seriously. You can’t be there whilest my team goes down. No. No. NO. NO. NO.

And while you sit there, think of me. THINK OF ME. Because, if you think of me- even only once…you will know how many Tigers games I’ve been too. How many summers I spent at that OLD Tiger’s Stadium. How many summers I spent with my LATE grandfather at Michigan and Trumbel, ending the game with a Coney dog on Layfette.

I neeeeeeeeeeeeeed this. My parents are in town. We’re all crying and sitting and watching the game together.

Just think of that.

Did I tug heart strings there? I was trying. Stupid cardinals.

I’m taking suggestions about what the sign should read. I’m tapped right now. It’s all the laughter…

But I’m ENORMOUSLY flattered that you re-TiVoed just because you thought you saw me. All that funny blip, blip, blipping of the TiVo thingie while you scanned for me. But tomorrow I’ll be RIGHT NEXT TO THE CAMERA BOX GUYS. It was kinda nice sitting in our seats last night. Like a warm up for us. I left my butt impression on the seat and it’s calling for me soon…

We looked for you SO hard, and once I swore so hard that I saw you that Alex had to run the TiVo back again and again until he could get a perfect freeze-frame. It *was* indeed a latte-skinned beautiful woman acting the fool, as I would have expected of you at that moment, because it was right after Sweet Baby Molina did one of his Good Things…and she actually had like a 4.5-head, and was having a really good curly hair night…but alas, no. No fat guy, no Kennimus, and upon inspection, no real Mocha-ness in beauty or attitude. (And standard-schmandard…I saw more ugly rednecks than anything in the stand shots, unless it was little kids, which were generally adorable.)

So what I’m sayin’ is, for Friday, make a big, witty sign, OK? I’ve reconciled myself to the fact that we won’t be seeing smokin’ hot A. Reyes and his knee-socks again in this series, but if Weaver starts to tank, I want you to go get Tony by the short ones and have him taken OUT. You hear? I’m leaving you in charge.

This is for you, Queen:
I’m home now and will be going back for Friday’s game. I plan to help out both sides by representin’ because that’s how I roll. But honestly, that’s NOT all that’s there. That’s just all the camera shows. Trust me. I saw a completely different crowd last night, but you know us Americans and our Standard of Beauty. Blech.

Watching game now…you there? And what’s with all the white folk there?? Seriously. There are an awful lot of blonde, middel aged white women in your Cards stands.

I’m just saying. Not that there is anything wrong with that..
