Graduation/Mother’s Day Redux

by Mocha Momma on May 13, 2007

So! These are the shoes.

Serious Strutting Happened With These Shoes

That went with the dress:

Go. Stand a tree. Look into the sun.

Which went with the gown and mortarboard and graduate cape thing that totally perplexed me. I may have a new degree but I couldn’t get that damn thing on and had to get help once I got to the auditorium. After the ceremony I caught up with my family. “I’ll be the one in the black robe.” I told them. “You should be able to find me easily AMONG THE 500 OTHER GRADUATES.”

Still Didn't Have That Drape Thingie Put On Right

After that we all traveled an hour back home where I cooked. Ok. I added bottled sauce to meatballs. But it’s good bottled sauce. It’s Sweet Baby Ray’s bbq sauce which is not only my family’s favorite but we find it at the hardware store. DOESN’T EVERYONE?

They Made Me Cook. In The Cute Dress.

And pretended to use my deranged, three-day-binge-coked-out looking eyes to serve food.

This Is My Martha Stewart Impersonation

This one is my favorite, though. I should start a catering business and use this for my promotional brochures.

This Is My Nigella Lawson Impersonation

Here’s two more. It was a great day. I can’t say much more about it so I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Constantly Smiling

shoes! and a hot mamacita! congrats to you, graduate – you look awesome. :)

Jess May 13, 2007 at 6:17 pm

Geez girl, what have you done to yourself? You’re looking younger and younger! Is it the bbq sauce? If so, lemme know. I’ll buy a lifetime supply! Congrats!

Greg May 13, 2007 at 6:26 pm

Con-grad-ulations! Yeah, that black cape looked quite dashing on me, too. Actually, I wore shorts under it and didn’t realize that from a certain distance it would look like I was naked under my cape…

Karen May 13, 2007 at 6:50 pm

I am so proud of you! Congrats! And you look absolutely stunning, my gorgeous gorgeous friend.
xoxo

MizAngie May 13, 2007 at 7:13 pm

In your pix you look very much like Vanessa Williams, except hotter, of course!! Congratulations again on your graduation.

sandra w May 13, 2007 at 7:48 pm

You’re sooooo pretty! Congrats I’m sooo proud of you!

Yvonne May 13, 2007 at 8:06 pm

Dear Lord woman, bugger the BBQ sauce. Can we just pour you onto the meatballs and eat you instead? Could you look any hotter/sexier/delectable and oh you get the idea.

You looked fantastic and that smile just says it all.

Congratulations on Graduation and I hope you had a fantastic Mother’s Day :)

Love you
Yvonne

Aww! Your pretty and smart. What an enviable combination. From now on I will only post jealous remarks about those two topics! ;) Congratulations Mocha Momma, you earned that lovely day with your loving family.

…sniff… (sob)… I hate… missing out on (sob) pita crackers…

Cynthia Samuels May 14, 2007 at 5:23 am

WOW! You know they say “pretty is as pretty does?” Well you are beyoootiful and as you and I have discussed before I know from experience what you give to your students and their families. Whatever comes next, whatever new opportunities this degree offers you, you have so so so much to offer and I know you will use this new (HUGE) achievement to do that. Love, admiration and congrats.

Jane May 14, 2007 at 5:57 am

Great outfit and shoes! Good for you!!!!

I’ve never thought to look for barbecue sauce at the local hardware store, but I will be sure to ask next time.

Sarah May 14, 2007 at 9:31 am

Congrats on the graduation!

Around here we have an awesome BBQ sauce called “Beer’s.” It’s locally made and soooo yummy.

I attended a graduation party this weekend, too. It was good times!

Tom May 14, 2007 at 9:32 am

Hey, I have those shoes!

Yvonne May 14, 2007 at 9:32 am

Don’t mind me, I’m just popping in for another perve on your sexy and Summa Cum Laude self. Thought I’d best leave you a message so you don’t think I am stalking you. (Which I of course, totally am doing!)

2:30am my time. I need to go to bed. It’s obvious my brain has left for the evening :)

G May 16, 2007 at 10:00 am

I second the motion – you look like you’re graduating from high school. Did you start using sunscreen in the womb?

You could call your company Cleavage Catering with that shot – everyone come and get your HOT lunch!! ;) Congrats.

VENTL8R May 16, 2007 at 11:03 am

YAY YOU!!! I guess this will make up for the lack of scintillating stories recently.

So, should I call you Master Kelly, like Master Yoda? Though you look NOTHING like Yoda (oh boy, digging a hole here), because you seem to have some kind of force with the rest of us pions. I’d better stop before you bitch-slap me.

J to the Wall May 16, 2007 at 2:56 pm

You look so beautiful!
I am SO sorry that I couldn’t make it!
But, what happened to the cake!
And…I hope you are better this evening!
Later.

Hello
I have never been on a blog site but found you when googling literacy coaching. I have a question I am hoping you can answer as reading your job description has helped me a lot. My childrens elementary school is switching from reading specialists to “A Literacy coach” that’s 1 600 kiddos. I guess my question is can a literacy coach replace a reading specialist in isolation or does there need to be a reading specialist in conjunction with to pick up the pieces for those who still arn’t getting it? Do some kids still need one on one or small group instruction at your school if not do you think it would be different at an elementary school level where the kids are just learning the basics of reading?
sorry to enter this in the wrong area like I said never blogged before it looks fun though. Please respond if you have time.
