Recently, during a teacher work day, I had the opportunity to listen to a national speaker discuss issues that are important to kids in high school and he spoke some words that are currently haunting me. It had to do with belief systems and expectations we have of our students as well as what they have for themselves.
It doesn’t matter what I think I can do.
It doesn’t matter what you think I can do.
It’s what I think you think I can do.
Ouch. That one stepped on my toes a bit.
*Edited to add: Drowning In Laundry did an interview of me that you can find here. If you want something to make you snooze and grateful for your own amazing lives…

This one left me slightly scatterbrained.
Whatever happened to “If you think you can’t, you’re right?”

Wow. That is a powerful sentence. I would have never thought of it that way.

As scary as the statement is, I may have to post it next to my desk.

That takes the concept of perception to a whole new level. My brain hurts now.
And BTW, you do have an amazing life. Great interview!

I am so sloooooow. I am still trying to comprehend the concept. I can’t tell if it’s menacing, inspiring, or both. But clearly I have not had your cuppa of the day! I need cuppas and not Mary Poppins blaring next to me.
I SOOOOOO need a cuppa with you, girl.
