There are two things I need to write about soon or I will EXPLODE. There will be particles of my body and brain all over the floor requiring an entire cleaning crew. One of them is about being a card carrying member of Minorities R Us (and don’t, just don’t call me a Tragic Mulatto because I can tell you there will be bits of you all over the floor, too) and the other is about how I’m going green. Really. It’s always been a Thing I’ll Do Someday that I’m really embracing. I got to do an interview of someone who operates a Green site and I need to get on that.
Right after I explode and get it all cleaned up.
But first!
I thoughts about doing some serious re-design around here and since I can’t come to a consensus about how it should look or what a theme should be, I shall covet. Openly. With abandon. Here’s some stuff I would like to have.
These are outrageously expensive especially when one considers that the bottom can simply be “cut” to the desired length. If I’m paying more than $75 for pants I’d better have a personal seamstress come to my home and measure me and make it work. Still, for the tall gal, these are a happy dance waiting to happen. Made by Earth And Sky whose website is currently under construction.
Made out of potato chip wrappers (I could keep them in business - kettle chips make me drool and profess my undying love to them) this little trash basket is cute. Can be found at BTCElements. Cute and crunchy.
It’s white. Donna Karan, yes, but it’s white. WHITE. I don’t do well with white either in my career or my home life. Too many greasy potato chips and cups of coffee. No, no, no. White wouldn’t do at all unless I had several because my coffee would probably jump out of the mug and attack it for being so pretty.
This is the only thing I’ve had a picture of for so long that I can’t recall what site I saw it on first. Possibly PiperLime.com or maybe Zappos. Two places I frequent far too much. Not that I ever buy anything. But, if I had a million dollars… and maybe that minority card. In platinum.

Oh dear God, the other day at the Getty Museum, a very tall woman sat near me wearing a cream colored knit pantsuit that was exceptionally elegant and wonderful. I goggled at her…I just could never imagine clothing myself in that color head to toe (she was a lovely mocha color, so the outfit looked especially stunning) - by the end of MY day, I would be smudged and stained and wrinkled. Yet she managed it with aplomb. I wish I could have congratulated her without sounding like a psycho stalker.

I would love to have:
1. An ass small enough to fit into those pants.
2. A house colorful enough where a trash basket like that would look completely normal.
3. A white outfit that naturally repels stains from such lovelies as coffee and Indian food (and the occasional dropped french fry… shh! Don’t tell anyone).
4. A billion pairs of shoes. Maybe a billion’s a bit much. Okay… a couple mil. That’s downsizing, right?
I trust that you’ll not explode until after you’ve posted your update? I don’t like to be left hanging.
*hugs*

I love Earth and Sky. The clothes are amazing and totally worth the money - not just for the green benefit. They wash super well, hold colour and last forever.
You deserve those pants baby. I can see them looking fantastic on you. You and your loveliness.

Love those pants! I caved in and bought a pair similar to those shown. The ones I bought looked fine in the dressing room, but now that they’re home - meh.
I don’t understand.

You are going to look great in that outfit! Can’t wait to hear about you “going green.”

Speaking of being a card carrying member of Minorities R Us, there are a million things I want to share but I always shy away. I tend to look to you for guidance. NOT on being a member, I think I’ve got that whole being black thing down, but on the writing.
Also you would be happy to know that Karen W. and I were saying lovely things about you the other day.

Love the trash baskets! I might need one (or two) of those. As for card-carrying, I would be a card-carrying member of Disabilities R Us, and don’t forget, candidates, I vote, too!

LURVE the pants but agree - I just don’t feel comfortable shelling out that money for pants I have to cut…. weird.
And I WANT those chip bag baskets. I need them!!

Love them, all of them. But…I found some cute clothes (yes, really) at a place you wouldn’a thought: jcp.com …. yes, it’s JC Penney’s but wait! They have a link where you can click on “complete outfits” and they are really cute! Wide-legged pants? I ordered them and they’re fabulous. Short swing jackets? Ordered two of those. City shorts to go with the jackets? Two of those, too. We won’t even talk shoes (I hid them on the dryer until they could be secreted into the closet). And everything was 1/2 off when I bought it. Spring if finally here!

This felt a little naughty. Clothes, shoes, talk of wearing white.

I say you should definitely get those pants now, before you start forgetting to wear any pants. ; )
