Recession Is The New Black

Today I smell extra good. My butt looks good in this summer skirt. My hair is curling properly and not puffing up to planetary proportions. My zits have all cleared up. I’m not bloated. My teeth are super shiny and clean.

That must be why three advertisers contacted me today.

What else could be the reason?

Today I’m choosing not to care which is the reason. Because all of the above statements about myself are false save one.

The hair is doing something it’s actually supposed to do for once. I haven’t been able to afford going to get my hair done so we’re going ethnic, au natural, swirly curly. So if you have products you want me to hawk, it’s probably because my hair is so kick ass today. Good hair sells.

God, I hope recession isn’t the new black. But I do think your hair looks great so if it agrees with you…well, hey, whatever works.

Must be in the cards for curly hair girls today. Mine was behaving too and I thought, I should take a picture to document. Unfortunately I did not, now it is late I have been rocking and it’s probably not as pretty. Advertisers, contact her, I’ll do what she says. ; )

Mocha Momma! De-lurking to say hello. As a fellow curly-girl, I just had to when I saw the subject of taming your wild locks. I don’t know if you’ve found this to be true, but I think us curlies tend to flock together - I have traded more curly hair product tips in bathrooms over the years than I care to think about. In that vein, I was going to tell you about my can’t-live-without products but on second thought, your hair looks so dadgum good maybe you should just tell me what you’re using!

I envy your hair. Mine is flat, flat, flat. I just had it cut last night, and that adds a little shape to it, but it’s still pitiful. Bleh. I’ll put it in a Pebbles style ponytail today; ridiculous at my age, but works for the humidity.

I wish I had curly hair… though, the hair-dressers ALL say I have some natural waves. It’s ONE big freakin’ wave… looks dumb.

I wish I had hair like you :(

I LOVE the hair! I would contact you if I had any products! I personally just got the stylist to cut WITH the latina wave. We are working with what we got. So far, I’m rockin’ it. Love going ethnic.

Teach me, you will. I have board-straight, can’t even hold a perm hair (the very early nineties was a time of experimentation). My lovely daughter? Curls out to THERE. And I have no idea how to care for them. She’s only two, so right now its just wash, towel dry, and let the wild rumpus begin. But as she gets older, I’m going to have to teach her SOMETHING. So please, teach me so I may teach her.

I’m so jealous! I wish I had your curl. But isn’t that always the case - curlies want straight hair (ask my daughter) and straights want curly hair. There is no pleasing us women. Every time I see a picture of you, I’m in awe of how beautiful you are!
