I think you should send your daughter to Australia. We've invented things to help with her disability. Chairs. Ladders. Or if it all goes pear shaped, I've got a teenage nephew who would probably have to reach down to get the cereal off the cupboard.

How happy was she to get that oat bran? My girls love that stuff. They eat it with a glass of milk and dip it like oreos. Very weird little children...

Writing for pay, or just for other people is too much pressure. I have absolutely no advice, because I'd be shoving you over on your girl's lap curled up as well. :p

I'd love to inspire you but I'm not sure how effective it would be taking off my shirt 10,000 miles away. Plus I'm an acquired taste.

I was just watching Fox News at my mom's house and saw this news story http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2008/06/mass-school-off.html. The news reporter insuated the school was at fault for providing help to teen mothers. Personally, I am in favor of these programs. One high school my husband taught at had a similar program, that allowed us to keep our child there as well since I was substitute teaching. I also subbed in the daycare when needed. My only problem with the program was the teen fathers were not required to participate.

Like you need to bribe us with water to give you inspiration, I will work for free.
Leave it to Tom to take things too far, I didn't need that powdering image.

On one hand, I want to go with something controversial, like the whole baby mama debacle. I always love how you handle topics like race, you layeth the smaketh downeth welleth.

On the other, your funny is funny, I especially like your stream of consiousness posts.

How and why does it feel different to give birth to a child and receive one into your care, eventually adopting them? (no, I don't love anybody less, but yes I think it's different)

Why does organized religion strike fear and revolution in people (okay, me)?

Hmmm, that was supposed to read revulsion, but hey, revolution works too!

How about perspective? I just wrote a bit on it earlier today. I was inspired by the full moon and how big it looks in the horizon next to the things we know versus how small it seems in the expanse of the sky, which we don't know the measurement of.

Too deep? Well, here's my cheap ploy to win... here goes...

PICK ME! PICK ME!

I left work yesterday feeling like I've reached a point in my life where all I have to do is tweak what's there. I have all the resources and tools I need, I just need to get better at using them.

Today at work I had a moment where I felt like I knew absolutely nothing, where my tool bag is empty and you couldn't have paid me to make a coherent thought.

Thankfully, that moment passed quickly. I'm feeling pretty damn good now.

Our new interns started yesterday and tonight we're sending them all over town on a scavenger hunt. And then? Beer. We know how to indoctrinate future pediatricians properly, dammit. I have thirteen newly minted doctors to sherpa up Mount Kiddie. And I can't hardly wait.

So what do I hope to inspire in you? That moments of stupidity are inevitable and that they are hopefully fleeting and that education - whether it's giving them something tangible or creating for them the tools to survive - is what keeps all of us going.

Wow... an Anne of Green Gables reference... très Canadien!!! I dig it!

I dunno hon... I think your inspiration is exactly in your marathon bike ride = dead iPod from boob sweat. With your creative juices - I am sure you can come up with something extremely witty and most of us can relate to wrt boob sweat! I've lost many a coins from boob sweat - well I forget I had used my bra as a wallet (sans pockets, you know?) only to find them many hours later as I changed/jumped in the shower - to find a loonie (CAD $1 coin) nicely logged - well... there, Ã la Janet Jackson-Superbowl-wardrobe-malfuction style.

Go for it! I would love nothing more than to read about that!!!
