It’s Pathetic, Really

I can’t get up a post yet because I had to squeeze my sons and yak at my mom until she uttered in an exasperated voice, “Oh, dear sweet angels, come and rescue me from my mouthy child and let her take a breath long enough for us to go grab some dinner before I faint from The Boredom”.

Whilst I get organized and talk to my therapist about abusing the word “whilst” I’ll post the only 3 pictures I have uploaded to the computer I’m currently using (which isn’t mine because Apple hasn’t asked me if I’d love to beta test whatever stupefying supercomputer they’re working on right now).

I’d say more, but I’m beat. Here is a picture of my daughter in training to be a little old lady who does crossword puzzles. In pen.

I’m also a little worried about not linking to every delicious person whose path I crossed (crossed mine? which is it?) over the last 5 days. But here are two more of them and I’m in both pictures. You probably know who they are, right? You SHOULD know her.

It’s safe to say I’m zonked. It’s also safe to say that I found myself in a bathroom enjoying libations with this little powerhouse. Probably not ever heard of her, huh? Yeah, she’s not even famous or anything.

Really, there’s more to come. Have to do some re-entry into life before school starts. I’ll have to be that pathetic blogger for a bit first, though. Is that ok? Because even WordPress is all Please Update Now! with me and I don’t want to feel like I need to smack my own blog upside the head.

Damn. How famous do you have to be to get mentioned up in this joint? I took that frackin’ picture in the bathroom!

    Ahem.

Tantrum over. Meeting you was one of the highlights of the weekend. Jenny was onto something with the whole hanging out in the bathroom thing.

Lara - Maybe fish tacos weren’t a good idea that late at night, but a great excuse for a Lemon Drop martini! Was fun!

Velveteen Mind - HA. I should have listed you but then I’d have to list ALL THE PEOPLE who took shots of me. Do you know that I caught 3 people snapping my pic covertly? I made my fugly face for them. See you in the stalls, girl.

Well I only wrote one graph and it wasn’t even funny - just my usual sentimental stuff. I get so damn soppy at BH - am hopeless. It was so good to see you and the ink puzzle girl. I’ve been doing it for years (starting in one color and correcting in another) because my first boss (and idol) did it so I HAD to. Doesn’t make the answers right but you feel SOOO SMART!

It was so great to meet! you, though I don’t think I ever managed to get my name out, because I was laughing too hard, standing next to you and other hilarious women wearing McDonald’s bags on our heads. Nothing like cheeseburgers to break the ice!

I was overwhelmed and hiding…and then you found me and dragged me into conversation about, what else, race, with some drunk women.

    It was good.

Wish I could have sat and had a drink or two and some real conversation with you. Maybe next year.

Good to actually meet you! and that daughter of yours- of course. Hi Mallory!

You were an unexpected highlight at the conference - I mean, I know who you are and read you through my feed reader, but meeting you in person was a neat. I loved that every time I caught a glimpse of you talking to people, you had a huge smile on your face or were laughing hysterically at something. :)

I haven’t written a coherent post yet. I’m all, I’m exhausted…but yet I’ve found the time to comment on everyone’s blogs. Ugh. It’s just the time….the time it takes to write my thoughts….I don’t have it just yet. I’ve been kissing a certain 4-year-old too much. Goodness, how I miss my baby.

I’m so glad I got to see you again this year. And it was nice to meet your sweet, gorgeous Mallory. She gets every ounce of her beauty from you, Kelly. Just seeing you two together…mother and daughter….it filled my heart to the brim with love. And it made me a little envious. (I might have to build a stronger foundation with my own mother.)

Anyway…I should probably go to bed so I can escape the California time that my body insists on sticking to.

i was just worried you thought i was harrassing your child; but the truth is, i needed to be near your unearthly beauty for as long as was humanly possible, and not get caught out. so i said whatever came into my head, not necessarily w/out a sprinkling of erstwhile and whilst and ersatz, just so’s i could ogle you. godDAMn, you are a beautiful woman.

(sorry i swore in front of your daughter. respect.)

My husband saw a pic I took of you and wanted to know who the hot chick was. I told him it was the lady I was threatening to beat down.

He said he’d pay big money to see that.

I told him it would be an easy win. I’d let you beat me just so I could cop a feel.

It was a joy and a privilege to be able to spend time with you and see you again, friend.
