Survived:
a day that started out with a longer than necessary phone call
wondering where a laptop went that I was keeping in my office
finding the laptop nearly an hour later
reading a handwritten note from a student about some terrible things done to her
calling DCFS
stocking up on shoveling Pringles and Zingers into my mouth
lunch duty
post-conference teacher evaluations
trying to get a student off the phone in my office area when she was clearly abusing phone priveleges
yanking the phone out of the wall for the rest of the afternoon
co-workers stumbling into my office to figure out why I yanked the phone out of the wall
feeling really badly about the whole phone issue and my overreacting to it
finally getting a Christmas tree
the laughter that accompanies friendly visits to my house about my pathetic Charlie Brown Christmas tree

the joy Mallory feels when she stands next to the first Christmas tree she is taller than

MERRY CHRISTMAS SISTER…
WISHING YOU CONTINUED JOY…PEACE…LOVE!
I THINK YOU ARE AMAZING…ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND PRETTY…LOL!
HUGS TO MY GIRL MALLORY! GO AHEAD GIRL…WORK THAT TREE!
Merry Christmas.
Great Tree.
Good job on the phone. Sometimes people need to know you mean business.
what you didn’t mention is that Mallory is actually 9 feet tall
oh my god becky… look at her tree
Since it’s high summer here (95F yesterday topped off with high 80s for the humidity) we don’t have organic trees. We go for the more robust plastic styles. And our’s is one Mallory would love. It’s a 7 foot 3 piece job. Except the centre section is missing so it’s actually 5 foot nothing. Let’s not talk about the funny step in the shape or the state of the family budget preventing its replacement.
I don’t I have ever seen a tree that short that wasn’t still growing in the ground…*snark*
I’m pretty sure that’s just the top of a regular sized tree that they chopped off.
I’m also pretty sure that Big Mike in Oz is gonna get coal for Christmas since he reminded me that it’s summer in Australia. I wouldn’t tell Santa to do otherwise for such meanness.
If Santa gives me coal I’ll have it express posted to you so your behind doesn’t freeze all the way off.
I think that next year I too shall purchase a tree over which I tower… it will make me feel like the Giant of Christmas and that is way better than Santa.
I don’t know how you do it in terms of your job… just reading that sentence, “terrible things done to her” breaks my heart. Thank God she had you to turn to…
May you have a very Merry Christmas and mark the end of this year of change in peace.
x
I think your tree is (was?) cute!
