Over the summer I got totally involved in Pinterest. So much so that I made it my homepage on my browsers. That’s plural. I have three browsers that I use because some work better than others depending on what I’m working on for both work and professional use. To say Pinterest is addictive is an understatement. I spend more time looking at the other things that people post than actually posting. That’s how I first found this note posted by Karli Geoghegan. I don’t know who else to give credit for this but her. She has a lovely Pinterest site and I follow all of her boards.
As soon as I saw it, I knew we would be doing this. I showed it to The Cuban and he loved the idea as much as I did so we adopted this policy that I’ve recently shared on my blog. Because I was getting so much positive feedback about it, I thought that I would occasionally post our promises to each other.
This picture is a little fuzzy, so I’ll help your eyeballs out if you need it.
I will: remember this is a stressful week for you, touch you softly, do one more thing more than you expect from me.
You will: continue your commitment to being healthy for me, be patient with me when I don’t understand your stress load, do one thing more than I expect from you.
Not that it needs explanation, but I told The Cuban that I wanted to change some of my eating habits (because he is SUCH a good cook! I can’t stop eating all his great food!) (did you notice he is going to blog on my site? look up at the top of this screen and you’ll see The Cuban which links him to a page on Mocha Momma!) and that I would exercise more on my bicycle because I wanted to be my very healthiest and best. For him. For us. I love how he incorporates some of those things into our weekly promises to each other but also how he realized that the first week of the school year would be stressful for me. It was enough that he recognized it. I have never had that before and, to hear him tell it, neither has he.
This is my favorite thing we do for our relationship.

I think that’s a super idea, K.
Thanks, Angie! I borrowed it, but I am happy to pass it along.
I love reading these, Kelly. Like I said on Twitter, I’m thinking that I might steal this from you for my husband and I to do. I can see how it keeps you mindful and appreciative of each other. That can get lost so easily in the stress and bustle of every day. I really appreciate you and The Cuban sharing your lists with the world.
There’s no stealing. It’s just a great idea I saw from someone else. Let me know if your husband likes the idea!
I love. I love. I love. I love.
Me, too, Rachel. Me, too.
xoxo
I love you guys so hard.
But we love YOU so hard! Seriously, Leah, we talked about you for a long time after we got off the phone last weekend. You and Joe will come visit us someday.
Hats off to The Cuban for helping you eat healthier. My better half could do a better job of that. She is always bringing home cheesecake or brownies or any other thing that is sometimes too hard to resist.
The new site looks great.
Thanks, Tom! I can’t believe you don’t have a smart-alecky reply. (Next time, though, please?)
Honestly, The Cuban made too many sweets last year in the summer. He perfected the pie crust and it was The Summer of Pies which turned this summer into The Summer of Thighs.
1) Omg yes, Pinterest is addictive. It’s becoming a Problem.
2) I absolutely looooove this “I Will if You Will” thing. Going to pass along this idea to the hubz.
Pinterest is so addictive that I refused to open it up this morning since I had work to do. Let me know if you and the hubz do this, Amira.
Big puffy heart this. Doing this with my husband.
I think there are going to a lot more lists going up tonight because of this.
It’s great that the food blog is up! Ask The Cuban if he fancies featuring that naan pizza you guys were telling me about…the one with the feta and the mushrooms? (If memory serves) I’ve been thinking about that since my trip upstate and just thinking about it gets me drooling. It’s nearly obscene. Really.
