I don’t know what it is about some songs. For one thing, they just have to hit me at the right moment. Secondly, they have to stir something in me or stick with me because of a note or a lyric or maybe because something in my life resonates with me the first time I hear it.

This one, that features Jack Johnson (The Cuban will be happy with that), keeps asking, begging really, “Oh, please just let me just breakdown” and I can attest to feeling like that sometimes. Breakdowns are welcome and right now I have to keep everything together. I’d love a breakdown. But I have no time for it. Come back some random day in July and I’ll schedule it for then.
