Lactose Intolerant! WHAT?

Warming up some Rice Dream original flavor milk, adding a shot of Peet’s Coffee (they’re having a coffee contest so go enter!) and then sipping decadently is my new pasttime. Just in time for baseball season. Play ball! With Rice Dream!

Should Be Tasty

I’m up early today. For obvious reasons: my bones need an extra 20 minutes of talking to before they stop cracking altogether. So! Since I’m older! I will enjoy the most decadent coffee today! Perhaps a white chocolate mocha with full fat milk. And whip cream. And perhaps an extra shot! It’ll kill me in the first gulp.

Ch-Ch-Chicory

I have had this Cafe du Monde container of coffee sitting in my freezer for a while and today is just the day to see if I still like it in all its earthy gloriousness. I do. Just takes a bit of 2% milk to make it not grow chest hairs so quickly. G’on and git you some.

Marshmallow Laden Cocoa

Penzey’s Spices makes a Dutch Process Cocoa in a 7.5 ounce jar that I mix with 5 cups of skim milk, 3 tablespoons of Penzey’s Vanilla Sugar, a hearty splash of vanilla, and a coupla sprinkles of cinnamon. If I mix up a batch and double the recipe you have to bring the marshmallows, ok?

Concoction

It’s cold. I hate cold. Why do I live here again? It’s sunny, though. That’s redeeming. It’s dry and my throat has a dry cough. The weather is also windy. There is debris flying around from toppled garbage bins. But there is tea and there is honey and there is relief. This is my current favorite, a Peppermint from Twinings that is fresh and zingy without the dullness of some mint teas. There are things to win and sample on that site. Clickity click. They say things like “lovely” because they’re British. It’s cold there, too, but saying ‘lovely’ warms me up.
