It’s that time of year when Hickory Farms melds into the scenery at the local mall. Go get some Christmas Celebration coffee. And then send it to me. I’m hoarding it for the end of times. No, really. I’ll keep it safe. I’ll brew it for you. Honest. Would I lie to you about coffee that celebrates the little baby Jesus’ birth?

Maybe saying it was “mediocre” is too kind, but my fave new coffee hut is under new management and today I ordered the Pumpkin Spice latte and it was far too perfumy to be enjoyed. Ick. Not what I wanted at all. Tomorrow’s pumpkin pie had better deliver because I’m pretty disappointed in pumpkiny stuff right now. Ick.

Don’t you hate it when you have your mouth set on something and you get to the counter at your coffee shop and they ask, “Would you like to try the Peppermint Mocha today?” and your brain is suddenly scrambled and you sputter for a moment before agreeing to it? I hate that, too. But I love it when I try it and my mouth is having a party and I’m grateful that they talked me into it.

I truly do want some coffee, but with the onset of a cold that I’ll be cussing during the duration of it, I am drinking hot water. With a lemon slice. Too bad it’s not something really tasty. In fact, it’s…what’s the word? Sorta gross. Definitely gross.
