Confession: Day Eight

Today was a Trying Something New Day for me. Hence, the breaking out of the Natural Cherry Pomegranate box of Crystal Light. (The Cherry Pomegranate is part of the Immunity drinks they offer.) These came in the box with the individual packets that you add to a bottle of water (of course, this is as opposed to the ones that make the entire pitcher full) and I’m going to have to be honest here: I wanted it to taste like the Pomegranate Lemonade that I’ve currently been LOVING. Except, it didn’t really taste like that. It reminded me more of what it tastes like when you make Cherry Jello and then drink it.

What are you suggesting? That I have done that before? NO. WAY. SIR. Not since I got out of junior high.

Anyway, it’s possible that I’m suggesting that you know what this tastes like if you’ve done it.

Which I think you might have.

But we’re not playing a blame game here…

So, I tried to give this the good old college try. Instead of just having one bottle today I decided to have two.

Nope. Still tasted like Cherry Jello. Which means it’s not my favorite. But I didn’t think I’d love them all. And to be fair, when, on occasion, I’ve made Kool-Aid for the kids and they choose Cherry? Well, I’m not a fan of that either.

In doing this challenge I had hoped to stop drinking pop altogether. Except that I went to lunch with a friend today and they serve this really good pineapple concoction (which has pineapple juice and ginger ale with a splash of grenadine) and I wanted it. So I ordered it. Of course, it’s not like it was a Diet Coke or something with a ton of caffeine and I’m pleased to report that I’m not missing the caffeine too much past the 8 o’clock hour. Since this was lunch, I was “safe” so to speak. The great part of this is weaning myself off the caffeine and I’m doing ok with that but I wasn’t a hard core caffeine addict anyway. Normally, I go through the week with 3 or 4 days where I have coffee and I haven’t had ANY since I started the challenge.
