Confession: Day Nine

This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Crystal Light Waterway Challenge.

Going back through the last week or so I’ve noticed some big changes about this challenge I’m doing:

1) My water intake increases with leaving out the little to-go packets of Crystal Light when I leave them on the counter.

2) No matter how many flavors I try of the newer kinds of Crystal Light my go-to is and will always be the Pomegranate Lemonade. Even though I am drinking the others and enjoying the regular Lemonade, that will makes my mouth the most happy.

3) My skin is clearing up especially on my cheeks where I experience the most breakouts.

4) The more water I drink, the less food I eat because I have that “full” feeling.

5) Whenever I leave a glass of Crystal Light around and walk away from it one of my kids will inadvertently take a sip. I know this. They confess it to me, too.

There are just some tricks that work better than others and the real issue is whether or not I’ll be able to keep it up without having the “challenge” to…well, challenge me. Now that I’m deeply involved with this challenge and I’ve confessed to having trouble keeping hydrated, I feel some measure of success at keeping up with it. There have been very few times when I’ve cheated (so, ok, I might have a cup of coffee every now and then, but it’s just a cup and no more!) and I’m getting better at remembering to keep a few packets in my purse.

Last night, when I went out with some friends for dinner I remembered to bring along a packet of Fruit Punch (my rating? An 8 out of 10) and then they asked me about the challenge. Hearing women sit around and commiserate about their lack of proper water intake is enough to bond us and make us challenge one another. All this time I had been doing this challenge and checking in with the women over at the Water Way Challenge that it didn’t occur to me to have my friends and I do this challenge together.

One more day of the challenge for me! Tune in tomorrow for my final assessment and how I think this will affect me in the long run.
